Received a bad gift? You know what they say, “One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure.”

MySpace vs. Facebook

By , April 8, 2008 10:58 pm

Does it really come down to a division of class?

YES. Think back to the people on MySpace and Facebook before all the marketers and PR people jumped on board for “research” purposes. Total class division right down to type of shoes someone wears.

I wish I could find it, but Steven Levy from Newsweek wrote a great article piggybacking off this idea as well.

Beer Does Make You Smarter

By , April 7, 2008 8:16 pm

According to this survey, ad recall in bars is higher – 78%- than usual.

I believe it. If you’re watching TV in a bar, you’re probably pretending to concentrate very hard in order to ignore the come hither looks of some creepy guy. Or, maybe you actually do get smarter with each drink… Buffalo Theory.

Welcome to 2008

These days, everything includes a copy to blog feature. If you don’t have one in your ad, why not? Free impressions? Naw, I think I’ll pass.

No matter how much people claim to hate ads, they love the “good” ones. And, isn’t every ad “good” in someone’s mind?

Note: Of course, this is in the ideal world where the majority of people click on your ad.

We Feel Fine

By , April 6, 2008 11:27 am

At its core, We Feel Fine is an artwork authored by everyone. It will grow and change as we grow and change, reflecting what’s on our blogs, what’s in our hearts, what’s in our minds. We hope it makes the world seem a little smaller, and we hope it helps people see beauty in the everyday ups and downs of life. -Jonathan Harris

An exploration of human emotion, in six movements is pretty cool if you have time to pay around.

Never Ever

By , April 5, 2008 10:33 pm

I’ll never choose a college based on a boy/girl
I’ll never stay in an abusive relationship
I’ll never be “that girl” that got raped
I’ll never move to a city because of a boy/girl
I’ll never have an affair
I’ll never be “the other woman”
I’ll never have a one night stand
I’ll never drive drunk
I’ll never black out

Ten years ago, how many of these were hard fast rules? Ten years later, how many of these “rules” have you broken? Funny how things change over the years.
