Frustrations of the Week

A few things I just don’t get about Sales Professionals / people trying to pitch us / people who have a promotional idea:

  1. Sales Professionals who come to a meeting 100% unprepared. Hell, some of them don’t even bring a deck to pretend they’re prepared. Even more developers don’t bring a demo of their product. Why yes, I’ll gladly sign a contract for a product I’ve NEVER seen!
  2. Those who don’t do their research on a company. HELLO, it is super easy to find information on 99% of companies, especially those who own a shitload of casinos. It would take you all of three minutes to go to Wikipedia and find something, anything about the company you’re pitching to. Those three minutes spent would be invaluable to your presentation.
  3. People who pitch me and are astounded when I ask for a link to an example and information about their product. God forbid you actually know how much traffic your website gets.
  4. Presentations that are not succinct and provide NO relevant examples. You could at least try to make a comparison between the example and my industry. No, I really don’t care how many awards the damn thing won. If it doesn’t make sense, don’t waste my time.
  5. And finally… Why invite someone to a meeting when the outcome has been decided long ago? That is just a complete waste of my time whether it be one or three hours.

And my usual, bonus frustration: Why is it so difficult to use SPELL CHECK?!?
